RTC Transit is the primary bus company in Las Vegas metropolitan area and is operated by First Transit and France's Veolia Transportation. As of 2008, the bus system carries approximately 10 percent of the valley's population per weekday.
On Nov. 27, 2005, for the very first time double-decker buses were entered to service in the Strip area, making Las Vegas the first U.S. city with double-decker buses in transit operation .
The double-decker fleet comprises of 131 Enviro500s from Alexander Dennis. The strip route service is called "The Deuce" and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The three batches of E500s are classed as #200-249, #101-141 and #151-190. (#224 was severely damaged in an accident on highway I-15 in mid-2006 and its wreckage is still being kept by RTC)
The latest batch of the 40 Enviro500s are 12.8 meters long with 2 staircases for safer and faster passenger loading. These 12.8m vehicles are now being used only for the Deuce route while its 12m sister E500s are being used for residential routes service around the valley.
On March 28, 2010, RTC launched two new BRT lines (Gold and Express-C) using Wright Streetcar RTV articulated buses.

On March 28, 2010, RTC launched two new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines (Gold line and ACExpress C-line) that reduces transit travel time within the valley by using new designated bus lanes, situated in downtown area, with less frequent bus stops on the strip. On the other hand, ACE passengers are required to have their tickets purchased before boarding the bus.
A fleet of 50 Wright Streetcar RTV articulated buses (#A011-060) are responsible for the new routes. They are 18.7m long with 3 doors and hybrid electric powered.
