Macau Peninsula is the oldest and most populous part in the city and geographically connected to the city of Zhuhai, China, at the northeast. It is connected to Taipa by three bridges at the south. The Historic Centre is located in the city center, containing 25 locations and buildings which was inscribed as UNESCO heritage sites in 2005. Most tourist attractions and many casinos are also located here.

The museum was built in 1933 in memory of the 40th anniversary of Grand Prix Racing in Macau. More than 20 formula cars and motorcycles once driven by world-renowned drivers are on exhibition.
